Roberta Christianson

Roberta ChristiansonRoberta Christianson was born in Lurgan, N. Ireland coming to Canada as a child. Since graduating from Arthur Meighen High School, Roberta has been employed as a legal secretary, loans administrator for a financial institution, a book keeper and office manager for both a management company and a professional organization.

Roberta has had a long and varied interest in volunteerism. She is currently Chair of two arts programs; the Manitoba Foundation for the Arts and Secretary for Manitobans for the Arts and the Portage la Prairie Public Arts Group. Roberta has also served as Vice-Chair of the Arts Policy Review Committee. From 1992 to 2000, Roberta served as Chair of the Manitoba Arts Council responsible for the distribution of $7.2 Million in grants throughout the province.

Always active in the community, Roberta was instrumental in establishing French Immersion in the Portage School Division, was a campaign manager in both a provincial and federal political campaign, and was co-chair of the individual fundraising for the PCU Centre in Portage la Prairie.

Roberta is married to Bjorn. They have two married children and 2 grandchildren. Roberta enjoys reading, theatre and gardening.
