Southport Golf Club
Returning members were eager to get out on the greens during opening weekend, and since the launch of the 2020 season, there has been an outpour of support and positive remarks from both new and existing golfers. After a much-anticipated wait, the driving range officially opened on May 15th.
New tee box markers will soon be placed on the course. The metal markers were made locally and feature the silhouette of an airplane, a unique aspect of the course as it neighbors the Southport airfield.
Provincial COVID-19 measures remain in place so golfers can enjoy their visit while maintaining safe social distancing practices. These measures include the placement of directional signs, hand sanitizing stations in the clubhouse, stoppers in each cup so balls can be retrieved without removing the pin, and staff are washing and sanitizing the golf carts after each use.
