Specialist, Marketing

Southport is seeking a Specialist, Marketing to join our Marketing Team. This position is a full-time, temporary position, anticipated start in May 2023 and to last approximately 16 months. Reporting to the Director, Business Development, the Specialist, Marketing will manage the marketing plans for Southport and its various Business Units, along with leading all internal and external communication channels. Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Director, Business Development and supporting the Southport team with marketing initiatives
  • Managing Southport’s digital presence, including updating company websites, corporate app, and overseeing creative content for multiple social media channels
  • Maintaining and updating branded content including promotional materials, internal documentation, and signage
  • Creation and coordination of the advertising plans for all Southport Business Units
  • Leading, planning, and executing public relations events
  • Developing monthly communication reports
  • Overseeing the Communications and Customer Service Plans, ensuring compliance
  • Managing internal communication channels
  • Investigating new trends and methods of communication
  • Supervising the Coordinator, Communications and Summer Marketing Student
  • Facilitating site tours and tenant engagement
  • Liaison with media for all public relation matters

Position requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma specializing in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or equivalent, preferred
  • Creativity, innovation, and adaptability
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Sound understanding of marketing principles
  • Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other digital content management tools
  • Capable of managing a variety of projects and timelines
  • Task orientated with strong prioritization skills
  • Ability to lead and work as a team
  • Valid driver’s license

Prior to the commencement of employment, the successful applicant will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination by providing a Government of Manitoba issued QR code and photo identification or providing proof of an exemption from the COVID-19 vaccination approved by the Government of Manitoba.
