Community Involvement
Southport and its staff support a wide variety of community functions held each year. This includes sponsoring programs, volunteerism and being visible and involved in local and provincial events and celebrations.

Environmental Stewardship
Southport is invested in Environmental Stewardship and works to establish long-term policies and procedures aimed at preserving and enhancing the quality of our local environment. This is achieved by doing what is best to make our community a better place to live and work. Southport is proud to be the first "Climate Smart" certified business in Manitoba. This accreditation identifies Southport as a leading organization that is tracking and taking action to reduce its carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.

Donations and Sponsorships
Southport actively supports the community through its commitment to philanthropy. A wide variety of community organizations benefit from contributions by Southport, whether they be in the form of cash or donations-in-kind.

Scholarships
Southport supports the pursuit of education. Each year, Southport awards a total of $11,000 in scholarships to students at Portage Collegiate Institute, Westpark School, Red River College, and Assiniboine Community College.

Community Partners
Southport is proud to partner with organizations that give back to the community. Community Foundation of Portage and District and United Way Central Plains are our two main partners in this endeavor.

Quarterly Review Schedule for Donations & Sponsorships

All donation and sponsorship applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis going forward. Organizations planning any form of project, event or program within a specific quarter that require a donation or sponsorship from Southport must submit their applications before the beginning of that quarter, in accordance with the schedule below. Reviews and feedback will be provided within the designated review window for each cycle.
