Seasonal - Clubhouse Lead Cook

Southport is looking for applicants for a full-time, Seasonal – Clubhouse Lead Cook position at our Southport Golf Club for the 2026 golf season (commencing approximately April 11, 2026, and ending approximately October 18, 2026). There is potential for this position to transition to the RecPlex should operational requirements allow. The Seasonal - Clubhouse Lead Cook is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the Clubhouse kitchen through the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes for members and guests of the clubhouse. The Cook’s culinary expertise will contribute to creating a delightful dining experience, ensuring high-quality food standards, and upholding the reputation of the clubhouse.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate with the Assistant Manager, Recreation the smooth, daily operation of the Clubhouse kitchen.
  • Plan, manage and prepare food in accordance with recipe specifications and customer orders.
  • Use of deep fryer, grill, oven, dispensers, and other equipment to prepare food items such as sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, salads, soups, and other food items.
  • Portion and assemble food for table/takeout service following proper safe food handling procedures.
  • Organize food preparations for catering and special events while maintaining the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize guests dining experience.
  • Follow approved opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations. Adhere to proper food handling and storage procedures to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses including following any daily, weekly, or monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by hand or though dishwashing and ensures to load, operate, and empty dishwashers, and put dishes away.
  • Empty and remove garbage, as required.
  • Assist in food preparation assignments during off-peak work periods.
  • Assist with training of kitchen staff and support open communication with all Clubhouse staff.
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Manager, Recreation, may plan menus and daily specials that appeal to the clubhouse’s clientele taking into consideration cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Recommend size of food portions, estimate food requirements/costs and tracking of food wastage.
  • Ability to cater meals for large groups.
  • Handling, storage, and rotation of all food products ensuring labelling food with date/time with in refrigerators and freezers.
  • Hourly temperature checks of refrigerated and frozen foods.
  • Accurately operate electronic point-of-sale system for the processing of payments, when required, while following appropriate safe handling procedures for cash.
  • Follow and ensure staff compliance with Workplace Health and Safety programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to constantly stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.

  • Ability to withstand variable temperatures, including extreme hold and cold, dependent on weather.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous related short order/line cook experience in a restaurant setting or on-the-job training in food preparation and sanitation techniques.
  • Ability to understand and prepare food orders correctly, consistently, and attractively to specified portion control.
  • Knowledge and understanding of proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Experience with maintenance and cleaning services within a kitchen environment.
  • Excellent public relations, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and work quickly and efficiently.
  • Present professional image always
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
  • Current Smart Choices certification or be willing to obtain same upon hire.

Seasonal - Recreation Program Coordinator

Southport is looking for applicants for Seasonal – Recreation Program Coordinator at Central Plains RecPlex and Southport Golf Club (as required). Start date: As early as June 29, 2026, and ending August 28, 2026. Recreation Program Coordinators are responsible for planning, organizing, and leading youth day camps and other recreation programs throughout the summer season. This role is hands-on and dynamic, requiring strong leadership, creativity, and a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants. Coordinators will develop weekly camp schedules, lead a variety of sports and activities, facilitate youth cooking classes, and ensure the overall wellbeing of all participants. This position includes managing program supplies, equipment inventory, and maintaining clean, organized program spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop detailed weekly camp schedules that include sports, games, creative activities, and use of Southport Bowl, the Central Plains RecPlex gymnasium, and rock-climbing facilities on-site.
  • Plan and facilitate a variety of recreational and sport-based activities suitable for ages 6-12.
  • Organize and lead youth cooking classes, including preparation, supervision, and food safety oversight.
  • Adapt programming to accommodate varying skill levels, abilities, and weather conditions.

Program Leadership:

  • Lead daily activities with enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong group management skills.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.
  • Act as a role model and uphold high standards of behaviour and sportsmanship.
  • Ensure active supervision of participants at all times.

Participant Safety & Wellbeing:

  • Monitor the physical and emotional wellbeing of all participants.
  • Enforce safety procedures and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and incident documentation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding program updates or concerns.

Facility & Equipment Management:

  • Maintain an organized inventory of program supplies and sports equipment.
  • Coordinate purchases of food and equipment supplies with Assistant Manager, Recreation.
  • Ensure program spaces are clean, safe, and properly set up before and after use.
  • Support general facility cleanliness during and following daily programming.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children and youth in camp, sport, or recreation settings preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple sports and recreational activities confidently.
  • Experience facilitating cooking or basic food preparation activities is an asset.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).
  • Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).

Facilities Maintenance Summer Student

Southport is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Summer Student – Full-Time Term (April – August 2026); this position has been created to provide quality summer work experiences for young peoples, candidates must be between the ages of 16 to 29 years to apply.  The Facilities Maintenance Summer Student is responsible for supporting facilities operation by performing grounds keeping duties on site and providing support to facilities technicians for projects and daily duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with facilities maintenance.
  • Performing manual labour and other duties as may be required for the effective and efficient operation of Southport.
  • Complete maintenance tasks as assigned following safe work procedures.
  • Assisting with maintenance, repair, and operations of Southport Commercial and Residential areas.
  • Utilize a diverse range of hand, power tools and instruments.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous maintenance or landscaping experience would be considered an asset.
  • Work tasks are performed predominantly outdoors and involve physical strength, endurance, and manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • Requires walking and standing for long periods of time.  The duration of time will vary dependent on the specific task being accomplished.
  • Must be able to exert, lift, and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds regular and perform manual labour for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for long periods of time, often in hot or inclement weather.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, with minimum supervision.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent prioritizing, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s licence.

Administrative Coordinator, Airfield Services

Southport is looking for a full-time, Administrative Coordinator, Airfield Services. Reporting to the Director, Airfield Services, the Administrative Coordinator supports operational activities, which includes supporting project management, tendering, evaluating resource deployment, asset, and maintenance management, as well as the software tools used to support business activities. The Administrative Coordinator will leverage existing data sources to optimize operational activities using a variety of data sources/input. Additionally, this role conducts research and implements best practices and emerging technologies related to business systems and processes.

Key responsibilities:

The following key activities include, but are not limited to:

Project Management and Tendering

  • Develop, update and publish tender package in conjunction with project manager
  • Support contract award processes including:
    • the creation of Bid Summary spreadsheet
    • Receive, tabulate, and file bids
    • Contractor notification
    • Contract creation
  • Maintain template documents associated with tendering process.

Administrative Support

  • Suggestions for continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Under the direction of management, develops and maintains policies, plans of operations, standing operating procedures, work instructions and other materials in support of Airfield Services and Strategic Partnerships.
  • Basic understanding about the importance of process and procedures, as well as quality management systems.
  • Coordinate meetings, document discussion and actions, develop and circulate agendas and minutes, prepare presentations, follow-up on actions list.

Administer Operational Programs Including

  • Airport Traffic Directives
  • Airport Safety Management System
  • Workplace Safety and Health
  • Vortex

Southport Business Systems and Analysis

  • Acting as super-user, provides advanced support and librarian skills to Southport’s Document Management System and other business systems (Q-Pulse, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Review feedback from various measurement tools (surveys, metrics, scorecards, reports, individuals, etc.) and complete one or more of; assess for potential solutions/concepts, report to stakeholders for consideration, provide implementation assistance, implement real-time adjustments.
  • Sound understanding about the importance of process and procedures, as well as quality management systems.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience performing administrative duties or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of business system applications.
  • Experience in contracting and tendering would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision both independently and as part of a team.
